Introduction to China Portugal Center
In June 2016, Associate Professor Wang Qiong from the Affiliated Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital of Southwest Medical University, together with Professor Albert, the Director of the Department of Biology at the University of Minio in Portugal, applied for the "Collaborative Research on the Prevention and Treatment of Neurodegenerative Diseases with Traditional Chinese Medicine" project jointly funded by the Ministry of Science and Technology of China and the Portuguese Science and Technology Foundation, and successfully obtained funding (Approval No. 2016YFE0131800). This project is the first national level special funded international cooperation project on traditional Chinese medicine between China and Portugal, and has received high attention from the leaders of Southwest Medical University and affiliated traditional Chinese medicine hospitals.
In July 2017, taking this project as an opportunity, Dean Yang Sijin of our hospital led the establishment of the Sino Portuguese T.C.M International Cooperation Center (hereinafter referred to as the Sino Portuguese Center), and served as the director of the Sino Portuguese Center, with Associate Professor Wang Qiong serving as the executive deputy director. Professor Liu Xinmin from the Institute of Medicinal Plants of the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences and traditional medicine consultant to the World Health Organization was invited as the chief scientist and part-time professor of the Sino Portuguese International Cooperation Center for Traditional Chinese Medicine at Southwest Medical University. ....MORE>>
